Job Description

Our client is seeking a Strategic Sourcing/Supply Chain Analyst in Berkeley, California (CA). Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing all sourcing/procurement activities for the assigned categories of spend. Identifies and develops supplier relationships
  • Effectively negotiates contracts and long term procurement agreements. In addition, participates in change management programs to establish processes and procedures
  • Querying, extracting, compiling, summarizing, analyzing large and diverse data sets
  • Coordinating with diverse levels within the organization: leadership/managers, Procurement and Supply National Team, project manager and other team members
  • Preparing actionable and insightful information from the multiple sources
  • Assist in the identification of sourcing and procurement strategies that will contribute to the targeted savings



Excellent communication and presentation skills required. Ability to lead cross-functional teams. Experience using a formal strategic sourcing methodology required. Excellent analytical skills including spend analysis required. BA or BS required plus minimum 5+ years of direct relevant experience. Experienced in supply chain management and operational challenges. These activities are expected to realize significant efficiencies and cost savings. Experience Requirements: 5+ years exp Six Sigma Green or Black Belt would provide an excellent set of data analytics skills Advanced database and data analytics expertise: Excel, Access, etc. Must be proficient working with, compiling, joining, or parsing large data sets (for example pivot tables, V-lookups, graphing, charting, etc). Executive-level presentation skills (not just PowerPoint creation, which is important as well) Top 3 personality characteristics: Quest to dive into and analyze data, and find ways to turn that into actionable information. Dynamic driver and definitely NOT a person that would wait around for direction. The person needs to be able to positively push and persuade. Fearless overachiever, and yet not a bull in a china shop either. Educational Requirements: Bachelor Degree minimum required. MBA or equivalent preferred. Required BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Purchasing/Procurement, Hospital Administration (other areas of study may be applicable and could be considered) Six Sigma training/certification (at least Green Belt) is STRONGLY preferred
